Our Eco-Warriors have been meeting regularly to organise our school’s Action Plan for this academic year. The team is made up of two children from each year group in KS1 and KS2. EYFS also have an important role to play and are working hard to make their school more environmentally friendly.
So far this year, we were lucky enough to have a visit from “Suffolk Recycles” who taught us all about what we can do to reduce and re-use our waste.
Our focus this year is to reduce our waste, reduce our energy consumption and improve our school grounds; to encourage more animals to visit. With the help of the Gardening Enrichment Team, the Road Safety Officers, the School Council and Mr Hunter, we hope to do our bit to save the planet.
We will regularly update the school and parents about what we are doing to help J
See www.eco-schools.org.uk for more information on the project.
Place Farm has now been recognized by Eco-Schools and received our Bronze Award, the first step towards getting our Green Flag. Congratulations to all the staff and children who helped the school to achieve this!
